Walgreens Kills Flooded Neighborhoods
In spite of the fact that the Walgreens Corporation has leased property for 8 years and has let it fall into a a state of disrepair.
In spite of the fact that it has become a public nuiscance to the degree that the neighbors next to the site fear for personal safety.
In spite of the fact that we have experienced the worst man made disaster in the History of this Country.
In spite of the fact that we are busy trying to fight for the survival of our Neighborhood with no help from The LRA and our Federal Government.
In spite of the fact that we have asked repeatedly and been lied to repeatedly by Walgreens Corporate offices as well as local representatives.
In spite of all that they want to continue to ignore the Zoning Laws of this City.
Time for a change

How long will this go on? I feel like we are in a huge BUBBLE screaming FOUL and nobody can hear us. How is Rite Aide feeling about this ability of Walgreens to flub the rules with no penalty? I would love to see them use some of their legal muscle to help us make Walgreens, the main competitor in the N.O. market, play by the rules. I’d also like to get some kind of sign campagne going if that individual who know where to get signs made is still willing, please contact karen to get my contact info. I want to put an 800 phone number to Walgreens customer service on the signs with a message telling people to call walgreens and complain about the blight in N.O. Walgreens will only respond to large numbers of calls and public outcry. Its all about the publicity baby!

Great Idea, posting the number at the site.
I am going to walk by your house this weekend and tell you what is going on

Squatting on a property for 8 years, without development, and then forcing suburban box in a historic neighborhood. It’s sick really.
They’re taking advantage of the state of our city, and our city government.

Incredibly disappointing to learn about things like this. I’m amazed at what you all are going through. I’ll do what I can to raise awareness of things like this.
